Description
Before you can create a newsletter or autoresponder in Acajoom you must create a subscribers' list. Once a list is setup you can have users subscribe to the list and then create and send newsletters and autoresponders for your list(s). You can create as many autoresponder lists as you want in Acajoom.
Step By Step
Note: Login to the backend of your Joomla! website, if you're not already logged in.
1) Click Components from the Joomla menubar.
2) Click Acajoom.
3) Click Lists.
4) Click the New button. The new list windows opens.
5) Complete the Status section by choosing the options for your lists. See chart below for explanation of this section.

PUBLISHED: This field allows you to publish or not publish your list. You won't be able to subscribe a user to an unpublished list and you won't be able to send Newsletters to an unpublished list. |

VISIBILE IN FRONTEND: This field allows you to show or not a subscribers list on the front-end of your website. If you set this option to ‘No', your list won't be showed on the front-end (in your module for example). |

TYPE OF LIST: This field will determine what type of list you're creating: Newsletter: A ‘Newsletter' list is the default type for a list. You will be able to create and send Newsletters and Scheduled Newsletters to this list of subscribers. Autoresponder: An ‘Auto-responder' list is a type of list you can create if you've purchased Acajoom Plus or Acajoom Pro. This list will allow you create and send AutoResponders to this list of subscribers. Smart Newsletter: A 'Smart Newsletter' is a type of list you can create if you've purchased Acajoom Pro. This list will allow you create and send Smart Newsletters to this list of subscribers. Smart-Newsletters are newsletters that Acajoom will automatically generate from content on your website.Co |
6) Complete the Description section. See chart below for explanation of this section.

LIST NAME: The field 'List Name' is the name that will be used to identify your list in the front-end and back-end of your website. Each list must have an unique name. |

LIST DESCRIPTION: The field ‘List description' allows you to enter a description for your list. This description will be showed in the front-end of your website, inside a Joomla tooltip. |
7) Complete the section Sender Information section. See chart below for explanation of this section.

SENDER NAME: This field shows the name that will display in the "From" area when the autoresponder is sent to the subscriber. Acajoom will use the default name that was entered in the Acajoom configuration area. |

SENDER EMAIL ADDRESS: This field shows the email address that will be used to send the autoresponder. Acajoom will use the default email address that was entered in the Acajoom configuration area. |

SENDER REPLY ADDRESS:This field shows the email address that will be used if the subscriber want to reply to the autoresponder. Acajoom will use the default email address that was entered in the Acajoom configuration area. |

CREATOR OF THE LIST: This is the ID of the user who will receive the report via e-mail. It automatically takes the value of the last user who modify the subscriber list and saved it. |
8) Click on the Template tab to setup the template for your list.
Note: Acajoom comes with one template. You'll need to know HTML or hire a graphic designer to create a new template.
9) In the HTML mailing field, leave the selection to Yes.
Note: If you prefer to have your emails sent in text format, which does not allow any formatting, choose the No option in the HTML mailing field.
10) In the Text Editor area, customize the template if necessary.
11) Click on the Auto-responders tab.
Note: Once a subscriber has received all the AutoResponders, they will be removed from the auto-responder list. In the field 'Specify follow up auto-responder' you have to enter the list ID of the list you want your subscribers to be automatically subscribed to once the auto-responder is complete. You can enter the value ‘0' if you don't want to use this feature.
12) In the ‘Specify follow up auto-responder' textbox enter the list ID of the list that you want your subscribers to join once they've received all e-mails from the current AutoResponder list.
13) Click the Subscription tab to view the subscriptions options. See the chart below for an explanation of this section.

AUTO SUBSCRIBE USERS: Selection Options: No, New Users, All Users The option 'No' the only way a person is added to this list is if they fill out the subscription form. The option ‘All users’ will add all your existing users and will automatically subscribe new users to this list. The option ‘New users’ will automatically subscribe your new registered users to this list. |

SEND UNSUBSCRIBE MESSAGE: Select 'Yes' if you want to send an email when a person unsubcribes from your list. |

UNSUBSCRIBE EMAIL MESSAGE: Use the Text Editor area to write the custom message that is sent to a person who unsubscribes. |
14) Click the Save button to save your list.
